English Idioms and slang

These idioms are proudly presented to my best friend, Ika tea’ who loves both English idiom and slang so much.

- Hotdog : actually, we recognize hotdog as food, but hotdog also means as one who always plays only for the crowd, or it can be called as show off.

- Boogie : it means as go, walk and drive

- Chick : it has meaning woman or girl

- Crappy : it has the same meaning as Cheesy; poor quality/ junky

- Hassle : complicated problem, bothering thing

- Lemon : lemon is not only name of fruit, but it also has meaning as broken car, a car of low quality, or second car.

- Nest egg : in Indonesia, we say it as uang pensiunan

- New kid on the Block : this is not ‘ur favorite group band, ika! But it means new person in the office or in the class

- Pernickety : fussy, critical of details, perfectionist

- shoot the breeze : visit, talk, chat
